Kids Intro To Tennis Course!

The kids intro to tennis course is a 3-day course that is designed to help every child, no matter their age or ability, jump in and start playing tennis. With a focus on game-based fun, it’s perfect for all children to get outdoors, active and having a ball (pun intended!).

The course is a hybrid of group lessons and school holiday tennis clinics, meaning that whilst it has lots of fun games to make little hearts happy & pumping, there is also a focus on learning tennis techniques that will give them an insight into ongoing lessons.

Ideal for:

Children who have expressed an interest in tennis lessons but would like to try tennis before committing to a term

Content includes:

Group-based games & drills
An introduction to tennis techniques to start your little one on the correct technical journey from the get go!
Learning about the ready position, backswing, swing to the ball, contact, follow through and recovery
Developing footwork and improving movement on court
And, overall, having FUN!

Adult Intro To Tennis Course

The 6-week course includes a 1-hour group lesson followed by social play with the group & coach(es).

This Course is Ideal for:

Adults who have had no/minimal coaching and playing experience
Adults who want to start playing socially but don’t know where to start
Adults who have begun playing socially but want to improve
Adults who want to improve fitness and learn the fundamentals of tennis

Content includes:

Group-based tennis drills and games
Focus on tennis technique
Learn and practicing of correct grips for different serves
Doubles tactics
Learn the ready position, backswing, swing to the ball, contact, follow through and recovery.
Rally with coaches and with others
Develop footwork and improve movement on the court
Learn how to score and the rules of tennis to feel confident when playing socially/in competition

Throughout the course, the above topics will be covered but not necessarily in that order. There may be more focus on certain aspects than others dependent on the needs of the students in that particular class. Due to the flexible nature of adult classes, parts of the curriculum may also be adapted to suit these needs.

Terms and Conditions:

Wet weather: if we are rained out, you will receive an SMS telling you so. If you do not hear from us, the session is on. If we are rained out, the course will be pushed back one week. Please note, this may go into term 3.
Once you have booked your place on the course, no-shows, cancellations and re-scheduling is not prohibited.
There will be a maximum of 6 per coach in the group lesson section.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start time.
At the beginning of the first session will be a small OH&S briefing so please arrive on time.
There will always be a short warm up in each session to increase your heart rate slowly, to warm all your muscles up and thus prevent injury. It is imperative that you are here for the warm up to reduce any risk to you in the session.
